Feel like eating books? Cake designers have made it possible for this 'book eating' act. Well, while you at it why not eat the scrolls and the hats too...now you really GRADUATES.

I made these cupcakes for my friend who works Brunei. No...I did not deliver them there but instead we met at the airport since she's attending her niece's graduation here in KL.

I have two birthdays actually...my actual birthday which was yesterday & today, as listed in my birth certificate. How lucky I am! I have relatives wishing me on the 19th & friends on the 20th. Great ain't it?

Wedding season again...three wedding cakes and one birthday cake...kept me on my feet for a few days but that also meant thicker purse. Yeah!

FIRST:

These cupcakes were a gift from me & my sister for our niece's Alia  Red & White wedding. "Selamat Pengantin Baru "

SECOND :


A cake & cupcakes tier for Shafriza's sister's wedding. Previously, I made two wedding ceremonial gift cakes for the "Nikah" ceremony. Remember the "Roses...Blue & Pink ,The Sequel?
I tried my hand on fantasy flowers I learned in my Wilton class, and the outcome was really great...away from my normal roses.

My son helped me make the cake stand...quite nice huh?

The cake is Strawberry Bakewell Cake. Doesn't it make your mouth watery?!

THIRD :


S.O.S. distress call from my friend, Ros, all the way from Klang. 14 hours...that's all the time I had before delivery time!
Actually...it was way way less since I have to complete the above cakes too.
Luckily, she has the cake and the design ready, so less work for me. I only needed to cover, stack and decorate the cake...my favorite part in the whole process.
Love the outcome..though this one does not follow Mr Cowell's advice...exactly like the printed image she e-mailed me.

A BIRTHDAY:

Edible image on a cake...the simplest decoration. Thank God for this new technology. In times like this, this is heaven sent!

How do I make gold color fondant??? Hmmm....how? how?

Do some research...do some queries...experiment ?! I did.... 

First I dusted some edible gold dust on white fondant , Ooo...didn't get the desired result. Then I mixed some color into fondant based on what I read on a sugarcraft page...not quite the gold I want, no glittery effect!

Searching mode on...creative mode on.....

TaDaaaaa...finally, yellow or lite orange colored fondant dusted with edible gold dust...and this is the result :

Birthday orders from Nicky...a cake with Barney decoration  plus 24 cupcakes; 12 SpongeBobs & 12 with 3D cars on them. The cars are painstakingly handmade from fondant but its worth it.

A last minute request from my sis in law for wedding cupcakes....therefore, had to use store bought roses. The theme was pink & white but had to use some red roses to make up the total of 50 since no pink roses available.
I love the red roses with white fondant back ground...so classic! Don't you?

Tiny, Tiny, Tiny...

Another one of my aunty's 'project' passed to me...tiny wedding gift cakes in the shape of gift parcels.They are about 2" x 2" & 1/2" high, basically a slice, covered with fondant & placed in individual gold colored boxes.

The first time I made these kind of tiny cakes were in May 26, 2009. Did 100 of them! They were really tedious & time consuming but when they're done, I can sit back and say, "Ahhh....those are my creations!!!" And "I am not gonna make 100 ( per order)  next time..got to put a limit." He..He...

My aunty passed this 'project' to me because she had to attend to her son's needs. He underwent on operation & had to stay in the hospital for almost a month.

Wedding presents? Hah...no, they are cakes wrapped in fondant & decorated with fondant ribbons. The theme is yellow- gold.

My husband's cousin, Mazura called me, "Kak, nak cupcakes boleh? Gambar cartoon, boleh? Individually packed boleh?" Me..."Boleh....". Always 'boleh'....cash for me, cupcakes for you. Good barter system !!!
After calls & e mails, finally I am able to deliver these cupcakes. Glad she likes them. So do her kids!!!
