KUCHING: "The Yayah the Cookies" made its debut at POPULAR bookstore in Jugah Mall today. The author of "Dear Yayah" series, Farihah Iskandar was here to promote her novels. Lucky fans were given these cute cookies when they have their books signed by their favorite author. These individually packed cookies are miniature copies of  "Dear Yayah" novels.

"Dear Yayah" series published by PTS Publication is a favorite among young teens. The stories are about a teenager's life from boarding school to her overseas studies. The examination fever, studies, puppy loves & crushes, boarding school life are some of the topics featured in the novels.

Happy Eid Ul Fitr to all.
Almost 70 days of silence....but I am not gonna bore you with my 'excuses'. Just let me brag about my Ramadhan projects, not that I have plenty ( I normally slow down in Ramadhan ).

My samples...no cookies inside, sorry!

Fancy....cookies....FANCY COOKIES!

8 July 2010

I made Sugar Cookies yesterday and my daughters had a great time decorating them, with royal icing and edible markers.
I was amazed with their ideas. Nadhirah came up with  'pizza-like', clock face and spider web designs( she later add a green spider on it ) on the flower shaped cookies. Nabilah came up with a butterfly ghost (bottom, second from right...yeah, the white one ) ...a friendly one I suppose since it has a smiling face on it.
Great jobs Girls!!!

And these are mine...butterflies and flowers. Nothing out of the ordinary. Kids have the wildest imagination if you allow them to be creative. Am I right?
Also featured is my first attempt at cellphones cookies....the cookies are larger than they are suppose to be. I guess I left them out a bit too long before baking or .....maybe I should try a different recipe...one that is more stable. Any suggestions...anyone?

Slabs or Slaps ?

18 November 2009

In the mood of trying a new recipe from my book & with persuasion & ideas from the kids, I made these square shape "Chocolate Chips Slab Cookies". The kids love them...almost gone in an afternoon. Pity them I only made a batch. Next time kids!
Photo taken by my eldest son...cool photo isn't it?

Photo taken by me. Not bad, huh? I think....

Saved some for my husband to bring it to the office and ....lucky me,his collegue,Huzaila likes them and ordered 2250 pieces, 3 in a package, for her wedding celebration mid-December 2009!!!
Hmm...to take or not to take ( the order ), that is the question. I have never done so many cookies before.
With help from my kids,my sister & her kids....cutting & packing, I can say "WE DID IT !!! "

Photo taken right before they were whisked away by my husband on the morning of December 17, 2009. 750 packs in 3 boxes!
