Frametastic

Have you thought about putting your edible photo on an edible frame on your wedding cake? Or birthday cake? Or whatever cake you can think of?
Well...this is how it will look like.

This delicate frame is made from royal icing...I am sure some of your relatives or friends would be happy to munch you...ha,ha,ha!
Such a tedious process but the outcome is mind blowing! This particular piece was done during my three day workshop at The Dessert Table, Mutiara Damansara under the coaching of Puan Farida.

I just want to ride on my motorcycle

I love being challenged with new cake design...one I have not attempted before, like this one.
When I was asked if I can do a 3D Harley Davidson cake, I know I want to do it. After "google..ing" , deep in my heart I know I can do this despite the fact that it was my first time. Internet and U-Tube are my teachers.
Baking, cake stacking, trimming into shape, covering with fondant and attaching all the details took me 10 hours or maybe more....I didn't really count. I was enjoying myself.
Despite the long hours I felt tremendous pleasure when this cake is completed. My son even made a poster of it.

“THE CURIOUS CASE of Pink and Green BUTTONS”

30 April 2011

Luckily the pastels pink and green buttons did not gets smaller….they stayed cute and sweet.

Had to use my imagination and whatever tools I have to create different button styles. My daughter helped me making these buttons…ha..ha…my hired ‘in-house’ helper! Hey…she got paid you know.

Photo on the left is taken by my son using his Canon EOS1000D whereas the one on the right by me, of course using my compact Sony camera.

Roses on Cupcakes

13 November 2009

For Faizaa to bring as wedding ceremonial gift, a.k.a. 'hantaran' , for her friend somewhere south. Quite a last minute request but I manage to complete my gumpaste roses on time. Phew!!!

MY FIRST CAKE...

April 2007

My affair with cake decorating started about 2 years back. I attended a bread making workshop conducted by Berita Publishing in January 2007.Chef Anuar demonstrated cake decorating using fresh cream. "Hey...I can do that!", my heart said. And I've never decorate a cake before...Ha,Ha..what was I thinking?!
Later, BAGUS outlet Kajang conducted a fondant workshop in April 2007. I went & voila! My first decorating effort:

The workshop was fun & never thought I can do this...look at the cake above. But I did! And the "WoW!" reaction from my husband tops it all.
